Keys to the Championship for Aces and Fever

The second spot in the 2025 WNBA Finals is up for grabs between the Fever and Aces in a sudden death matchup in Game 5 on Tuesday at 9:30pm EST/6:30pm PST. So, what are the keys for the Fever and Aces to win?

Indiana Fever Keys to the Win:

Energy. The Indiana Fever have proven time and time again that no hardship is too big – even losing almost half of your team to injuries throughout the season including your 2024 Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark. The Fever won Game 1 because they came into Las Vegas with energy, motivation, and were not going to take a loss for an answer. They channeled that same energy in a win or go home game against the Aces in Game 4, with Aliyah Boston being the game changer in the 2nd half especially in the fourth quarter going head-to-head with MVP A’ja Wilson. If the Fever plays with high energy and motivation and goes into the game not willing to take anything less than a win, they will win this game.

Las Vegas Aces Keys to the Win:

Offense. While yes, defense does win championships, for the Aces the key is their offense. A’ja Wilson single handedly carried this team throughout game 4, bringing them into a small margin of the Fever. However, despite how great she is, this is the playoffs and the stakes could not be higher – her immense talent is not enough to beat the variety of talent in the Indiana Fever group. For the Aces to win there needs to be someone else on the team who can step up and help the Aces secure this victory, whether it be Nalyssa Smith or Jackie Young or Chelsea Gray or another player. If we get another Aces player who steps up to the mantle and produces big points in the game, the Aces will win this game.
